Governance Committee

The Governance Committee supports the growth of the Digital Durham Board and Committees.

Key Committee Responsibilities:
Provide guidance on nominations of new members (both Board and Digital Durham nonprofit), committee membership, executive committee nominations, and general Board self-governance.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is responsible for managing and overseeing Digital Durham’s finances.

Key Committee Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review fiscal policies and the annual budget to be presented to the Board
    Present financial reports regularly to the Board
    Create appropriate procedures to administer and implement financial policies

Outreach & Marketing Committee

The committee develops and coordinates activities that foster a greater awareness of Digital Durham and member organizations. Additionally, the committee promotes digital equity programs and projects to key stakeholders in the Durham community.

Key Committee Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Digital Durham’s social media presence
  • Oversee Digital Durham website
  • Create flyers, press releases, and other communications
  • Coordinate stakeholder outreach
  • Develop internal Digital Durham communications

Fundraising & Resource Development Committee

The purpose of the Fundraising and Resource Development Committee is to support the Board and staff of Digital Durham in identifying and attracting the resources required to carry out the mission and ensure the sustainability of the organization.

Key Committee Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present a fund development policy for Board review and approval
  • Create and propose annual fundraising plans[1] for Board review and approval
  • Identify/find resources to support the organization’s programmatic goals
  • Assist the Board and staff in performing fundraising activities.
